The Colorado State University
Cooperative Extension maintains an office in at the Clear Creek,
Summit, Gilpin & Jefferson Counties Fairgrounds. The mission of
Cooperative Extension is to provide information and education, to
encourage the application of unbiased research-generated knowledge,
and to develop leadership techniques with the aim of improving the
quality of life for citizens throughout Colorado. Colleges and
universities in nearby Denver and Boulder include: The Colorado
School of Mines, University of Colorado, Metro State, Colorado
University, and Regis University (2 campus sites).
Clear Creek, Summit, Gilpin & Jefferson Counties are served by several
medical clinics and emergency centers. Chicago Creek Clinic offers
family medicine, emergency medicine and specialist care to residents
of the Clear Creek County. Lutheran Medical Center and several other
hospitals are located in the Denver Metro Area, with flight for life
services from Clear Creek, Gilpin and Summit Counties.
The
legalization of limited gambling in Black Hawk and Central City in
Gilpin County has affected the way we live and work in Clear Creek, &
Gilpin Counties. It has brought new residents, new jobs and new
